30-second demo — organize, highlight, redact, export (GIF goes here)

Air-gapped by design

Paperkeep makes zero network calls after download. No uploads, no accounts, no telemetry. Pull the ethernet cable and everything still works — that's the whole point.

True redaction

Most tools draw a black box over your text and call it a day — the words are still in the file. Paperkeep scrubs the underlying glyphs from the content stream, character by character. Covered content cannot be selected, copied, or extracted.

$15 forever

One key, all your machines, no expiry. Adobe wants ~$240 every single year for the privilege of uploading your documents to their cloud. Keep your $225.

Questions people actually ask

Why is the free export watermarked?

The entire app is free to use — every feature, forever. Free exports add one small footer line on each page. A $15 one-time key removes it. That's the whole business model: no trials, no locked features, no subscription.

Does it phone home?

No. The license key is verified offline with Ed25519 public-key cryptography compiled into the binary. Paperkeep makes no network requests after you download it — you can verify that with a firewall or packet capture.

What do you do with my documents?

Nothing, because we never see them. Your PDFs are opened from your disk and saved to your disk. There is no server component at all.

Windows says "Windows protected your PC" — is this malware?

That's Microsoft SmartScreen flagging any new unsigned app. Click "More info" → "Run anyway". A code-signing certificate costs several hundred dollars a year; once sales justify it, builds will be signed and the warning disappears.

Refunds?

It's $15 and the whole app works before you pay, so you know exactly what you're buying. If you're unhappy anyway, reply to your receipt email within 30 days and you'll get a refund, no questions asked.

How many machines can I use my key on?

All of yours. The key is tied to your email, not your hardware. Honor system: one key per person.
